Dr. Michael Cope at TMC in Singapore went through my resume as I sat in his office and then he asked me about life working and teaching in Sri Lanka. I can’t imagine a better diving-in-the-deep-end experience – the shock of SL society and work culture, the new roles of professor and academic director. But I’ve managed and thrived. I told Mike that I especially enjoy the planning, organizing and systems creation that is central to the academic director’s ability to manage without going crazy.
TMC has plans to greatly expand their programs it offers students and there could be a good fit for me to help manage part of the expansion. No promises of course, but Mike assured me that my resume will stay in his KIV pile.
“KIV?” I asked.
“Oh sorry. That means ‘keep in view’ where I’ll see your res and keep you in mind as opportunities solidify.”
Thanks Mike for inspiring the name and strategy for this blog.
The idea for KKIV is to expand the network of folks who know I’m available in ’08. They’ll also have a source that explains what value I can immediately bring to an organization – and provide a sense of my marketing style.
